Kinesio Taping is a therapeutic taping technique that gives support and stability without limiting movement. Kinesio Tape is elastic in nature and can stretch 30% beyond its original length. Clinically, it is applied to muscles to help reduce pain and inflammation, relax overactive muscles or to support movement. The science behind Kinesio Tape is that it activates the neurological and circulatory systems by assisting muscle function. Kinesio Tape can be worn for 3-4 days, providing continuous treatment outside of the clinical setting.
Kinesio Tape can be used in conjunction with other therapies for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back strain/pain, knee and shoulder conditions, hamstring, groin or rotator cuff injury, whiplash, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, patella tracking, pre and post surgical edema, ankle sprains, athletic preventative injury method, and as a support method.
