Janette graduated from Westervelt College with an Honours Diploma in Massage Therapy in the summer of 2014. She began working at the Stratford Health & Wellness Center part-time later that fall and is now a full-time member of the Stratford multi-disciplinary team.
Janette's fascination for the intricate workings of the human body and interest in helping others be at their best began at an early age, eventually following in her family's footsteps in becoming a health care professional. She understands that aches and pains of any type can lead to other mental and physical issues such as sleeplessness, anxiety, loss of concentration and lack of motivation. Her goal is to help people feel the best that they can and she incorporates educating clients on the benefits of postural awareness and stretching techniques to prolong the effects of massage.
She uses a combination of special tests, myofascial release, deep tissue, relaxation, joint mobilizations, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and cupping during treatment.
Since graduating, Janette has volunteered with the Western Mustangs Track & Field team and has learned a variety of acute and chronic sports injury techniques and rehabilitation methods. She has volunteered her time to work with palliative care clients in the Stratford area and has taken courses on relieving cervical spine, vertebral and lumbo-sacral pathologies at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy.
